Simone Sapienza

Simone Sapienza (born 1990) is a photographer graduated in Documentary Photography from the University of South Wales, Newport. Simone has been recently nominated for the C/O Berlin Talent Award 2019 and selected amongst the six finalists of Fotofestiwal Łódź Grand Prix 2019. Previously, he won the Gomma Grant Best Rising Talent Award 2017 and was amongst the winners of The British Journal of Photography Breakthrough Award 2016  and the PDN-edu contest, 2014 and 2017. His works have been displayed all over the world in festivals and galleries and have been featured in international magazines/websites. In 2018, his first photobook, Charlie Surfs on Lotus Flowers, was published by AKINA. Also in 2018, he worked as Artistic Mediator for the contemporary art biennial Manifesta 12.
