Parallel Members

Platform Members include museums, galleries, cultural centres, festivals, art schools and publishers – 18  vibrant European cultural hubs, from16 different countries. The large and diverse nature of the network ensures a wide geographical spread and a fertile ground for fostering new dialogues, sparking fresh ideas and helping to boost creativity.

Common cultural-artistic values
PARALLEL is gathering together members of diverse characteristics, scales and geographies. Platform’s structure, however, obeys a principle of shared values and common objectives in the way they work and intervene in the culture sector. PRL members articulate a common vision and ambition and this sharing of values and objectives is the actual “glue” of the Platform.
Our common cultural values can be described as:
  • The search for relevant and innovative artistic work in the field of visual arts and photography;
  • The creation of critic and constructive projects in the fields of arts, culture or creativity;
  • The research of new ways and processes to intervene in arts and culture;
  • The promotion of networking and intercultural dialogue to enhance the economy of culture; and
  • Working for the development and dissemination of creative industries.
Geographic distribution is a key feature of the Platform. PRL relies on a group of high-level CCS players spread throughout Europe and the current network will be strengthened and diversified by the integration of new members throughout the roje t’s duration. Platform’s transnational character and the principle of mobility for artists and artistic work will assure a large European and international circulation for creators’ artistic work and teams involved, improving their career opportunities and their capacity to work transnationally. Creative Guidance activities are meant to be a capacity building phase, with tutoring and peer learning activities that will allow European emerging creators to improve their professional skills.
PRL will promote European artists’ work through a large network of exhibitors, the Exhibition Platform. European artists’ will be presented at universities, art schools, museums, galleries, festivals around Europe, allowing creators to access new markets and new audiences. Their work will be edited and promoted in European art magazines, on websites and social networks, Platform Publications and promotional channels, also part of the Exhibition Platform. PARALLEL will trigger a new orientation in the links to be established between creators, exhibitors and general public, in a principle of promotion and presentation of new artists, new trends, seeking new methods to present artistic work and thus promote audience development.
