Stratos Kalafatis

Stratos Kalafatis was born in Kavala, 1966. He graduated from the Physical Education and Athletics department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In the years 1991-93 he attended photography classes at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, USA. He lives in Thessaloniki and along with Lia Nalbantidou, they have created Studiotessera, a photography studio for educational, publishing and artistic activities. During the last thirty years, he has been presenting his photography at private galleries, museums, festivals and artistic events throughout the world. His books Archetypal Images (1999), Omonoia 2000 – A journey to the heart of Athens, (2000), Journal 1998-2002 (2004), Athos/The Colours of Faith (1st edition 2014, 2nd edition 2018), Archipelago (2017) are available from Agra Publications – Athens. He is represented by the Bernier/Eliades Gallery.
